Core German language courses—such as Practical Phonetics, Practical Grammar, and Oral and Written Communication Practice—are taught to first- and second-year students by the faculty of the Department of German Phonetics and Grammar.
The Department of German Language Theory and Practice provides German-language instruction for third- and fourth-year students in subjects including Sociocultural Foundations of Communication, Language of Media and Communication, Language for Professional Communication, Fundamentals of Translation, and Foreign Literature.
The Department of Linguodidactics and Foreign Language Teaching Methodology specializes in teaching courses on foreign language teaching methodology at both bachelor's and master's levels.
The School of German Language actively collaborates with universities in the Russian Federation, CIS countries, and the People's Republic of China. Key successful academic projects include the conferences "Text – Discourse – Culture" (jointly with Kuban State University), "Functional Linguistics and Communication: Challenges and Prospects" (jointly with Southern Federal University), and "Trends in the Development of Language Education in the Modern World." Annually, more than 300 students from Belarusian and international universities participate in career-oriented competitions such as "About Our Homeland in German," "Terra Linguistica," and the Olympiad "Deutsch ohne Grenzen."
