Our Mission

The aim of the Department of Socio-Pedagogical and Psychological Support is to provide comprehensive socio-pedagogical and psychological assistance to all members of the university community throughout their educational journey.

Our Objectives:

  • to study the individual characteristics of students and student groups, helping to prevent negative patterns while fostering positive personal development and resolving academic and interpersonal conflicts;
  • to offer psychological assistance and socio-pedagogical support to students facing difficult or crisis situations;
  • to promote healthy lifestyles among students and prevent the use of narcotics, psychotropic substances, alcohol, and tobacco;
  • to carry out preventive work aimed at safeguarding students’ social and psychological well-being, including suicide prevention;
  • to help students address personal challenges, including those related to their studies;
  • to provide socio-pedagogical and psychological support during students’ transition and adaptation to university life;
  • to enhance the psychological and legal awareness of everyone within the university community;
  • to develop practical guidelines and recommendations for students, faculty, and staff.

Key Areas of Our Work:

  • socio-pedagogical support and protection of students’ rights and legitimate interests;
  • socio-pedagogical support for students from orphanages and those without parental care, along with outreach and prevention activities;
  • psychological assessment, including individual and group testing, surveys of students and staff, and evaluating the quality and impact of student development and civic education programmes;
  • information campaigns and preventive education;
  • psychological education and mental health awareness through talks, seminars, round tables, podcasts, and initiatives designed to help students apply psychological knowledge in their academic and professional lives;
  • psychological support and development, including workshops on personal and professional growth, confidence building, interpersonal skills, and self-regulation techniques;
  • counselling services – individual and group sessions for BSUFL students and staff on personal and professional challenges;
  • methodological work, including analysing research findings, developing practical recommendations, and integrating these insights into BSUFL’s daily practice, as well as creating programmes and resource materials.

The Department of Socio-Pedagogical and Psychological Support works in close cooperation with faculties, dormitories, student councils, community organisations, and other structural units of BSUFL.
